About the Artist---Marcia Bass

First, it's pronounced "Marsha", although I am never offended if it is pronounced incorrectly.  This I just blame on my mother.

Speaking of my mother, I started etching by doing a Boxer dog head as a gift for her in 1990 (it can be seen by clicking "Enter Shop" and then "Custom Etched-Your Dog"). It was on a 24" x 24" octagon window which was then installed in her home office. Since then I have continued doing pieces for myself, family, & friends only. In 2004 I began attending the ABC (American Boxer Club) National Show in Kentucky with my mother, Nan Hauprich. Noticing there was an unfulfilled niche for this type of artwork, I offered pieces for sale at the ABC Regional Show in the Fall of 2004 and at the ABC Nat'l Show in May, 2005.

Response to my work has been overwhelming. I was then commissioned to do a beloved, now deceased, Doberman from a photograph. I have had many requests from individuals and smaller boxer clubs for future work. I hand etch various vintage and contemporary glassware pieces. The main body of my work has been Boxers. I plan to expand into other canine breeds in the near future. I also offer antique and vintage canine (mostly Boxer) figurines.

At this time, the only show I plan to attend will be the yearly ABC National in Kentucky.

Therefore, this website was born.
